✨2025 Lessons✨

For the past few years, I have made it a practice to pause before stepping into a new year to reflect on the last 12 months and ask myself: what did you learn?

This past year, I pulled Tarot cards with regularity. 🌙 I like the way they invite me to listen to the universe, listen to my intuition, and then offer an opportunity to self-refect more deeply. There were two cards in particular that I pulled that I think summarize my year beautifully: The Tower and The Wheel of Fortune (this one I actually pulled ~5 times. I googled it - that's statistically a very rare thing to happen). You can scroll to the bottom of the page to learn more about the meaning of these two cards, but what they meant to me is simply:

Things will fall apart (tower), but it can be an opportunity to rebuild. And luck is coming your way, make sure you're ready to receive it (wheel of fortune). 🍀

With those thoughts grounding me, and a reminder that my anchor for 2025 was "baby steps", I feel my lessons from 2025 may be:

  • I actually can't control a heck of a lot despite what my brain tries to tell me (okaaay, you were right, Mom).

  • My 2025 anchor of "taking baby steps" helped me to start small in many different places...

  • ...and, hey! Turns out a lot of small steps do actually add up to meaningful changes.

  • Slowing down might just let me speed up.

  • My anxiety can be a teacher if I listen to her... I mean, it clearly taught me the skill of organization!

  • Old wounds still hurt just as deeply (dang).

  • Maybe, instead of trying to be kinder to myself, I could practice being more gentle to myself?

  • I need to trust myself.... Turns out, I do have the skills I need to continue to face hard things.

  • I am so lucky to have surrounded myself with really thoughtful and supportive people.

  • Community is key, and I want more of it.

  • Balance does not always need to mean "equal".

  • I miss my mom. I wasn't done learning from her.

So, what's the meaning of it all? I think 2025 was here to remind me of three things:

〰️ My intuition is a quiet whisper. I need to listen to her. 〰️

💫 I can trust myself. Whatever is going to happen ('cause bad stuff has a way of happening), I will handle it to the best of my ability. 💫

⚡️ Do not let my anxiety stifle my bravery. ⚡️

Tarot Card Meanings, According to ChatGPT:

The Tower⚡️:

"The Tower speaks of sudden revelation and unavoidable change. The structures you believed were solid—beliefs, relationships, plans, even your sense of self—are struck down. Not because the universe is cruel, but because what was built was out of alignment.

Remember: the collapse is liberation."

The Wheel of Fortune🎡:

"The Wheel of Fortune teaches you to release the illusion of control and trust the rhythm of life. Luck will soon smile upon you—but only if you recognize the moment and step forward when the door opens. And when things are low, the wheel will turn eventually.

Remember: you are both a participant and a passenger in life’s grand design."
