Near the start of a new year, I like to do two things:

  1. Reflect on the year that has just passed

  2. Set my intentions, mission statement, and an anchor statement for the new year (& nope, I 100% do not set yearly goals).

For step two - I ground myself by asking how I want to 〰️feel 〰️ in the new year and then consider what I need to do to foster that feeling. After many (maaaaany) iterations, journal entries, and coaching conversations, I eventually find a mission statement as well as an anchor statement that resonate with me.

This year, I am happy to share:

⚡️ My Mission Statement is: To grow intentionally, foster connections, and to be gentle through it all.

⚓️ My Anchor Statement is: "grow gently."

For the first time ever, this year I also built a BINGO card for the year! I have a few "big rocks" I know I want to strive for (e.g. renew my ACC designation, run a road marathon within a particular time, be gentle with myself, build my community, etc.) so I used those as a starting point to identify big and small things for my card.

📔 If this is something that speaks to you, be sure to reach out - I will happily share some journal prompts that might help you get started. 🤎
